The value of stock equated to €150k. Even though this was high they still managed to have shortages due to poor stock control. Using 5S the whole workplace was re-organised creating visibility of the stock on the shelves, and in particular incorporating minimum and maximum stock levels.  The stock now fluctuates between a minimum of €30k and a maximum of €90k. Overall the stock reduced by €60k from previous levels improving cashflow, and is well controlled. As it’s also very visible, savings have been made in the time required to collate and despatch orders.

 
 

We started a Lean programme with Lean Team Strategies and we have made significant savings. The project has been a very viable one and we would definitely recommend it to others as we have seen the results on our bottom line.
